Hi there! My name is Amber Bobnar from WonderBaby.org!
WonderBaby.org, a project funded by Perkins School for the Blind, is dedicated to helping parents of young children with vision impairments as well as children with multiple disabilities. Here you’ll find a database of articles written by parents who want to share with others what they’ve learned about playing with and teaching a blind child, as well as links to meaningful resources and ways to connect with other families.
“It's here!!
It's here!! Today Oaklynn's new bed was delivered and set up. I fought so incredibly hard for this and seeing her in it and how amazing it is, all the stress, tears, sweat, and hard work was worth it. She LOVES it!! I feel so much better about her in this bed. We will all sleep well tonight.
She LOVES it!!
“Kaiya finally got her new bed!
Kaiya finally got her new bed! So hopeful this works well for her. It's fully adjustable up [and] down, head incline and feet.
“I cannot wait to see
I have been waiting and waiting for Zar's SleepSafe Bed. I will finally have a little less stress wondering if he will fall out of his bed again. Each side is padded which I just love because he likes to kick and bang. All the little windows are too cute . He will be able to grow with his bed for years. I cannot wait to see how he sleeps tonight.
how he sleeps tonight.
“We got the SleepSafer® bed for our son, Will, yesterday.
...and it's awesome! It's twin-sized (they have other models and full-sized beds too) and fully enclosed so he can't get out of bed at night. Before yesterday, he was still sleeping in a crib because he wouldn't stay in a regular bed, and he's almost 4 years old. We are so excited that our son has a safe place to sleep and we don't have to worry about him at night anymore. I would recommend this bed to anyone who has a child that needs to be enclosed while they sleep. These beds are very safe. Thank you SleepSafe Beds!
“I personally love this bed for my daughter.
I am so glad I did my research and went ahead with a bed that she will grow into well in to adulthood. Best yet, it goes above my waist so I can pick her up easily and safely. The bumpers, thank you for creating that. I could go on and on from the quality of the wood, features, being able to customize it, put on pieces, take off, etc. I have told my daughters' therapists about your company and they are also trying to order them for their clients. Finally a company that actually thinks about their clients and their comforts.
“Genell now has everything she needs.
A little over a year ago I was in tears because I continued to get multiple medical denials for Genell’s care and equipment. After lots of research and SACRIFICE, Genell now has everything she needs and the pieces are finally starting to fall into place... As a special needs mom, it’s not often we get to celebrate victories, but today... we did just that!
